A CYCLING CHALLENGE IN SUPPORT OF THE CHILDREN of the group KESAJ TCHAVE

Founded in 2004, the association Yepce seeks to promote and support European cultural exchanges. One of the groups which has been closest to our hearts since founding our association is Kesaj Tchavé.

Kesaj Tchavé is the story of an ambitious initiative launched in 2000, born from the idea to use music as a springboard for the development of young Roms and as a bridge towards their positive integration into society as a whole.

Our support of Kesaj Tchavé  is motivated by their success and their unique way of sharing and transmitting music, be it in such prestigious venues as the Zénith in Paris as guests of the band "Les ogres de Barbacks" during the World Rom Day, or on a makeshift stage in a Rom camp in the Paris region.

A way to highlight our support of the group Kesaj Tchave

2010 is an opportunity for us to further knowledge of our commitments.

As part of the initiative we will cycle from Rennes, the seat of the association, to Kezmarok, in Eastern Slovakia, covering a distance of over 2,000 kilometres, in order to join up with the group Kesaj Tchavé and help set up the new edition of the inter-slum festival Akaname.

This adventure is an opportunity for us to meet new audiences and strengthen existing partnerships with a view to proposing concrete solutions to the fight against discrimination and social exclusion faced by the Gypsy community.

The cycling challenge is also a way for us to implement a new support action: to raise funds in order to allow the 5th edition of the inter-slum festival Akaname to take place.
